Using the course catalog

Browse all published courses from Explore or the search field in the header. Search matches course titles, descriptions and instructor names.

• Filter by category, level, price, duration, language and format (live vs self-paced) in the sidebar.
• Sort by relevance, price, rating or popularity; results are paginated.
• The result count always reflects the real number of matching published courses.
• From a course page you can preview the curriculum (lesson titles and durations), read the full description, and see learner-authored reviews.
• Lessons marked as preview can be opened without enrolling; everything else requires an active enrollment.

Cart, checkout and enrollment

Add courses to your cart or save them for later from any course card. You can hold only one seat per course, and a course you already own cannot be bought again.

• Totals, coupons and discounts are calculated by the academy server when you check out — never only in your browser.
• If an order requires payment, you complete it on the payment provider's hosted page. Card details are never typed into, stored on, or sent through this site.
• Free courses (and zero-total orders) enroll you immediately with no payment step.
• Your purchases appear under My orders with their real status.

Note for development environments: when the academy server runs with development payments enabled, checkout may offer a clearly-marked “development completion” button instead of a real payment. It is never available in production.

Lessons, progress and certificates

Open a course you own from My learning to enter its workspace.

• Lessons are organized into sections and can be written articles, quizzes, or videos where the instructor has provided one.
• Mark lessons complete as you finish them; your progress, watched time and completion are saved to your account, not this device.
• Quizzes are graded on the server — you need 80% to pass, and a quiz lesson only counts as complete once you pass it.
• Every lesson has a private notes field only you can see.
• Live sessions show their times and let you register (and cancel) with capacity tracked on the server; you can add a session to your calendar.
• Course resources are downloadable by enrolled learners only.
• When every lesson and quiz requirement is complete you can issue yourself a certificate with a public verification code.

Account, sign-in and password reset

• Anyone can create a free student account from Join free. Student registration is public; instructor and administrator roles are assigned by the academy, not self-selected.
• Verifying your email confirms your address. You can request a fresh verification link from your profile.
• Forgot your password? Use the reset flow — a one-time link is emailed to your address, and completing a reset signs out your other sessions.
• You can change your password from your profile; this also revokes your other sessions.
• Your profile, learning goal and notification preferences are editable, and your profile can be public or private.

Contacting people in the app

Verdant has no external support email address today — contact happens inside the app:

• You can message the instructor of any course you are actively enrolled in, and they can reply to you. Messages live in your inbox.
• Replies and other events show up in notifications.
• Course discussions let enrolled learners ask questions publicly within a course.
• If you cannot sign in, use password reset rather than creating a second account.

Teaching on Verdant

Verdant courses are academy-managed: instructors are invited and assigned by the academy's administrators, so there is no public instructor sign-up and no self-service course publishing.

• If you already have an instructor account, your courses, lessons, quizzes and live sessions are managed in the instructor workspace.
• Instructors see only their own courses; publishing and platform-wide settings are admin-controlled.
• Interested in teaching? Speak with the academy administrator — they create instructor accounts and assign courses.

Accessibility

• The whole site is keyboard-navigable, with a visible focus state and a “skip to content” link on every page.
• Animations respect your operating system's reduced-motion setting.
• Forms use real labels, controls are at least 44px tall, and dialogs can be closed with Escape.
• If something is hard to use, tell your instructor or the academy administrator via an in-app message so it can be fixed.
